Application of Reclosing in Distribution Network Automation

At present, load switches are basically used in distribution network equipment. The failure of any section of line or user equipment can cause the outgoing switch of the substation to trip, and the entire line will lose power; operators need to go to the site to find and isolate the fault, and transfer power to the non-faulty section, causing users to lose power for a long time. In particular, power outages for important customers of the distribution network will not only pose a threat to public safety and people's personal safety, but may also have significant negative socioeconomic and political impacts, and even cause social paralysis. 1. The application of automatic circuit reclosers in transmission lines has generally matured


The automatic circuit recloser is a facility that automatically recloses the circuit breaker by using a relay automatic device after the circuit breaker is opened for some fault reason. If the fault in the power system is temporary, after the circuit breaker is tripped by the relay protection device to cut off the power supply, it will be automatically reclosed after a predetermined time. If the fault has been automatically eliminated, the line will resume power supply; if the fault is persistent, the circuit breaker is tripped again and is no longer reclosed. The application of automatic reclosing in transmission lines (especially overhead lines) has generally matured.


2. The automatic circuit recloser in the distribution network automatic relay protection setting principle


The automatic circuit recloser is a relay automatic device that automatically switches on the circuit breaker after the fault has tripped as needed. It can quickly locate the fault, quickly remove the fault point, and cooperate with the real-time monitoring of the distribution automation system, the remote control function of the switch, and the remote operation of the switch and the partition operation, so as to realize the rapid transfer of power supply in the non-faulty section, and further shorten the user's power outage time.


Adopt the setting principle of voltage-time feeder automation mode. Taking the voltage and time as the criterion, it cooperates with the reclosing of the outgoing switch of the substation, and relies on the logic judgment function of the power distribution equipment itself to automatically isolate the fault and restore the power supply in the non-fault zone. When a short-circuit fault occurs in the line, the substation protection trips, and the line switch opens after power failure. After the outgoing switch of the substation is reclosed for the first time, the line switch will be closed step by step after being energized. After closing to the fault point, the outgoing switch of the substation will trip again, and the switch in the fault zone will be blocked at the same time. After isolation, the outgoing switch of the substation is reclosed to restore the power supply of the line before the fault point, and the tie switch is closed after a delay to automatically restore the power supply of the line after the fault point.


At present, any equipment failure in the distribution network can cause a power outage across the line; operators need to go to the site to find and isolate the fault, and transfer power to the non-faulty section, resulting in a long power outage.
